Full-stack and AI engineer
I'm Saqlain. I build web, desktop and mobile apps, and AI tools that run on your own machine.
I'm open to freelance projects, contract work and full-time roles.
Based in IslamabadPakistan
You open a file and write.
A markdown reader and editor that needs no vault, no plugins and no setup. Math, chemistry and diagrams render as you type. The AI panel runs on your own model and never writes by itself: every change arrives as a diff you accept or reject.
Screen recordings that zoom where it matters.
A free screen recorder for Windows that zooms into each click and follows the cursor by itself. The recorders that already do this are Mac-only, paid, or both. Vuoom composites every frame in Rust with wgpu, exports MP4 and GIF, and has no account and no watermark.
Build and run a model from a sentence.
The first MCP server for NetLogo. It lets Claude Code, Cursor and nine other clients build, run and measure agent-based models from a sentence, through 25 tools. It began as a course project and is now on PyPI and in the official MCP Registry.
pip install netlogo-mcpDownload a model once over Wi-Fi. Use it forever.
An app that runs language models on the phone itself: no account, no server, and no internet after the first model download. I built it because every time I left town I lost ChatGPT and Claude along with the signal.
It appears where I need it, answers, and is gone when I'm done.
Press Alt+Space and a small window opens at your cursor. Ask a question, attach a PDF or a folder of code, read the answer, press Esc. It works with Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, GLM or a local Ollama model, on your own key.
Open anything. Instantly.
A document viewer built for Android, also available on Windows. It opens PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and plain text, never touches the network, and the Android build asks for zero permissions.
A point of sale and accounts system in daily use at a restaurant in Skardu.
A point of sale and accounts system in daily use at a restaurant in Skardu. It runs fully offline on the till's own SQLite database, and every push to main ships an auto-updating installer. This is private client work, so there is no screenshot to show.
Tauri and Rust.
Paperling's Windows installer is 13.8 MB.
C++ and Qt 6.
For the two smallest tools, Pin-It and ClipStream, I rebuilt them with no web view at all.
The OS keychain.
That is where Paperling keeps your API key.
Diffs you approve.
Nothing touches your file until you say so.
A release from every tag.
CI cut 301 of my 310 releases.
Co-founder and CTO, April 2026 to now.
We turn a venue into a 360° tour you can walk from a phone, with an AI guide that answers in English and Urdu. I build the tour player, the guide and the analytics behind them. The tour of NEIC in Islamabad runs live on the homepage.
I'm Saqlain Abbas, a full-stack and AI engineer from Skardu, now based in Islamabad.
I work across Rust, Tauri, and AI, taking ideas from a first prototype to apps people can use. Alongside that, I'm finishing my degree and building VIYLSA.
